Congratulations, Phillyartmom. Sarasota is one of my favorite places. What a wonderful place to spend four years.

.Phillyartmom,

Congrats. What a great way to get a first acceptance. At a top choice. Enjoy this weekend, and celebrate

phillyart. great news. congrats!

Fabulous news! And here is the Hillel link - several area colleges share a Hillel:

wow, all of these great successes. congrats mdmom and phillyartsmom.

Philyartmom - Mazel Tov to you and your D!!

It is great that it is her favorite, but for me, I am just happy that she is in somewhere!

I understand that CofC early action decisions have been released and are coming out by snail mail - anyone waiting on this one? Great option for a Jewish “B” student who wants an urban campus. Charleston really is a great college town - check out this recent review:

RVM - waiting with impatience here in PA for CofC. I hate snail mail!!!

Hey, I’ve got some good news to share. I was just accepted to a masters program at Johns Hopkins (I can take it all online). So cool. I felt like a HS senior running for the mailman every day (they said they would mail acceptances), but I did get the acceptance via email on Thursday. As if I don’t have enough to do. But I really want this and am so excited – and, I must admit, kind of proud of myself :)

Also - I wanted to let phillyartmom know that I can make a lot of recommendations for the Sarasota area - I’ve spent a lot of time down there (girls trips). It’s beautiful down there (and great shopping too).

Finally, on the Jewish theme of this thread… I spent a day with DD at Delaware this week (long story, but at least I got to see her). While she isn’t actively involved with Jewish organizations on campus, she does pay attention to the NJBs (nice Jewish boy) - there weren’t any in her HS. But the subject came up several times during the day (and at dinner with her friends). While I had hoped she would be formally involved in Jewish activities on campus, it was also important to me (and to her) that there would at least be a significant number of Jewish students. That she’s running into them and paying attention – that’s a huge positive.

momofa12 - good luck with CofC - I really liked it when we visited. I think it was 2 years ago - there was a glitch on their online status checker - although they did not have decisions posted online - kids who were admitted were able to see other links - such as housing selection - that clearly indicated they were admitted. But I’m guessing that has been fixed!

LINYMOM - congrats on YOUR acceptance - very cool! Nice update on your D as well - it’s interesting to note how many of our kids don’t get involved with Hillel or other Jewish organizations at college. But as you noted - at least they have some Jewish students to interact with.

Congrats to Linymom on your acceptance!

Good luck to momofa12.

Since RVM brought up the Huffington Post’s list of 10 Best Places to Go to College, I wanted to point out that Boston University is #1 on the list. My D2 is having a great experience there so far (although she’s stressed over finals at the moment). Like Linymom’s D, she isn’t involved in Hillel but has made lots of Jewish friends.

Momof12,

I am with you. i was told that my D’s decision was put in the mail on Wednesday. it could take forever to get out here. They were way behind on updating the online status. They just told me to keep checking.
LINYmom, congrats on your acceptance. I was just wondering…Are you really a jewish B student, or are you just posing as one…John’s Hopkins Grad school…Impressive…

More acceptances! Congratulations!

Congrats Linymom!

Congratlations 911C2 . .!

LINYMOM–Congrats!

Congratulations Linymom, Wow!!! Good for you!!! Also congrats to Mdmom’s and Phillyartmom’s daughters!!!

linymom, I think you should add your acceptance to the list as enrolled…
