We visited Brandeis and it was a pretty school whose student population seemed more premed than anything else (not D2’s choice). It did seem small and supportive and D2 would have applied but for their no merit aid policy.

I visited Brandeis with DD; we got the feeling that, even if she somehow got in, it would be hard for her to keep up. Would have been perfect for DS, except that they don’t have engineering (oh yeah, and the price).

As a side note, my parents wanted me to go there many moons ago. The tennis coach there wanted me also and I was accepted. My mom was really pushing for it, but I opted for Northwestern (further away, bigger school, Big 10 sports) instead.

Hi, wow… no activity in this thread for 3 days, where is everyone? Well time to share the good news that D2 was accepted to Tulane today!

Mumof2: congratulations to your D!! We will be at Tulane on Friday. Have you visited?

mumof2, congrats! Feel free to pm me if you have any questions about Tulane.

For those who don’t get into Tulane (or don’t like it), Loyola is right across the street and is another great school. It’s Jesuit but you don’t feel pressured to join anything religious and Tulane is right there for your Jewish needs.

Thanks LINYMOM! She was very excited. My D1 is a sophomore there and we have been 6 times! New Orleans is such a great city, we were just there a few weeks ago for parents weekend. Have a great trip, where are you staying? Let me know if you need an any restaurant recommendations, the food is amazing there.

Congratulations Mumof2, what a great way to bring the thread back to page 1!

Congrats Mumof2!!

There are so many great places to eat in NOLA!! We are happy our DS stayed after graduation. More time to visit and eat!!

Congrats Mumof2…

LINYMOM and Vitrac - Thank you both! I am not sure if DS will apply to Brandeis, but it is good to have feedback.

mumof2 - Congratulations on Tulane!

Congrats Mumof2!

Fabulous news on Tulane!

I have always believed that your child should go to college in a place where you want to visit.

Congrats Mumof2! I agree with tsdad. It’s very nice when your kids attend college in a place that’s fun to visit.

In that case, I would be fine with Tulane or Miami (DS’ current top choice)! Although when he’s making his list of pros and cons, I think I probably shouldn’t mention that, right? :)

Our kids had to apply to schools with good food both in the city where the school was located, as well as en route. I’m (half) kidding. :D

Mazaltov !!! I have never heard of a student not liking Tulane.

Somehow, I can’t talk my kids into applying to schools in Paris ;)

Congrats Momof2 on Tulane… and my S too just received his acceptance there!

Champs: Congratulations on Tulane! Woo Hooooooo!
