Colleges I Should Check Out As A Biochem Transfer?

Hi,

I graduated high school a year early with a 3.9 GPA. I decided to attend community college instead of going the usual 4-year school route because a) my SAT scores weren’t as competitive as I would have liked (ACT – 27) and b) I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I have no clue why my ACT scores weren’t as high as they should have been because, while in high school, I always scored in the 90th percentile for state wide tests.

Anyways, I’m set to graduate community college a year early with a 4.0 GPA. My major is math and science. I’ve decided I’d like to go the pre med route and major in biochemistry. I’m currently living in New York and would like to either stay in the city for school or go to college outside of New York with a similar city feeling.

So I have two questions:
A) Do you know of any good colleges in New York that I should check out? Outside of the city?
B) I do know that a good number of colleges require the SAT or ACT. How much weight is put on these tests when applying as a junior?

Good choice on choosing community college for your pre-reqs, I bet you saved a ton of money.
1 A). I’m not that familiar with NewYork’s school except NYU, Cornell, Columbia, Rochester? Out of state: alot
B) If you applying as Junior I think they def look at your College GPA rather than SAT, ACT scores but for Ivy’s it is important.

Good luck
