Colleges Looking at Multiple Test Scores from Both Tests...

If I was to send in a low SAT (I need to send in Subject Tests…so my SAT has to be a part of it…) and a high ACT, would colleges (most specifically: NYU Stern, UPenn Wharton, and Michigan) just use the high ACT and Subject Tests?

Penn would for sure. In general, every college does, as every college has incentive to do so.

But usually you wouldn’t need to send in Subject Tests with an ACT, right?

I’m thinking my son would do better on the ACT and one of the plusses I saw was not having to mess with Subject Tests.

Some colleges will still require the subject tests, ACT or not.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/229607-required-sat-subjects-tests-class-2011-a.html</a></p>

The only two on that listed he’s interested in don’t require Subject Tests amymore with the ACT. Unless I’m reading this wrong: [Rice University | Prospective Students](http://www.futureowls.rice.edu/futureowls/Standardized_Tests.asp?SnID=1718210594)

Well, if the college doesn’t require Subject Tests, then it will readily disregard the lack of a score report from College Board. If it does require Subject Tests, but the applicant has strong ACT scores, then no harm, no foul. Either way, this isn’t a big issue to worry about.
