Colleges Near Washington, D.C.

What are some good colleges in the Washington, D.C. area for a student with theses stats?

G.P.A. - 3.45 (unweighted)
All honors and AP core classes and four years of a foreign language
SAT: 560- Reading, 540- Math, 550- Writing (<<First time, will be retaking)

I am already looking at American University, Catholic University of America, and Goucher College. Are there anymore colleges that I should be considering?

I will be majoring in either international affairs, government, or politics.

Any suggestions?

[College Navigator - National Center for Education Statistics](College Navigator - National Center for Education Statistics)

These three search engines are worth running because each of them takes different factors into account. However, you need to know that the other universities in this area that would be matches for you academically are public universities where the out-of-state tuition and fees would make them significantly more expensive than your own home-state options. You may be better off pinning down more options closer to home, and then making friends with your congressional representative’s local staffer so that you can find a way to arrange an internship in DC.

i would definitely go for American University, but if not that, don’t rule out George Mason University. they have a great international program as well.

the best in DC by far is Georgetown, but with your statistics, you’re not gonna get in (sorry! it’s a prestigious school haha)

University of Maryland - College Park… but I think it’s a reach for you.
