I am just curious. What colleges are the most “country”. As in country people like cowboys, rednecks… you know just country people. Where are all the cowboy boots and hats at.
Wyoming has a fair number of cowboys. Boots and flannel shirts and all.
Texas A&M, Oklahoma State.
Deep Springs students must participate in ranch and farm work in exchange for receiving free tuition and room/board. It’s a highly selective two year college; most students wind up at the the Ivies and comparable schools for their junior and senior years.

Here’s a list for you.
And yet none of those have ‘Cowboy’ as the mascot. (cal poly is Mustangs which is close)
Wyoming = Cowboys
OSU=Cowboys
U Alabama had a lot of southern (country) accents.
I would say look at what states are the most “country” and you will have your answer.
Now which are the most “rock and roll”?
Texas A&M, for sure.
Look for schools that have strong agriculture science departments and animal science, too. Look at the land grant colleges. Even if “country” doesn’t dominate, there’s a large niche group of individuals. You’ll likely find country people at the state schools in states with a large rural population, and many farming and ranching communities.
Do you really want to wear your cowboy hat to go to class everyday? I don’t think most students will even if they grew up on a ranch riding horses everyday and only listening to country music. So, you’ll likely find colleges with large concentrations of that type of person, but not necessarily that kind of attire.
If you do you’ll be in a minority, but cowboy attire is widely considered cool and sexy.
Sul Ross State University, Alpine, Texas
Tarleton State, Stephenville, Texas
Texas A&M
West Texas A&M, Canyon, Texas
And, yes, people do wear their cowboy hats at school, but never inside a building.
