Anyone know of some good colleges that don’t require supplemental essays? So far, I know Dartmouth and Vanderbilt do not. I figure that I have nothing to lose by applying to these schools and want to apply to as many as I can.

Bump.

There have to be some other good schools that don’t require separate essays. Anyone know of a few?

Not very many.

WashU doesn’t

Boston College doesn’t have one either.

University on Minnesota -Twin Cities i think you only have to send in your grades (and scores if applicable) you can transfer after 20 credits &HS record wont be considered…
Anyways not having to write an essay wiuld bwe a stupid reason not to apply…

I’m going to assume that you meant to say the opposite of what this quote says.

If applying to school requires nothing but a $50-60 application fee, as opposed to the essays and fee required by other schools, why wouldn’t I apply? How is not having to do any extra work not a good reason to apply?

^Both of you have good points. Transferring to a school because they don’t have a supplemental essay is a not a good reason for transferring BUT, of course, being at a prestigious institution is invaluable. There’s no problem with what you’re trying to do but most transfer students focus on select schools for reasons not including a required supplemental essay or not.

^Point taken.

My situation is a bit different from that of the average transfer student because my main priority is simply to get out of my current school. Any top-25 school will work for me (some better than others, of course).
