colleges that focus on learning, not GPA...

I know schools like Reed and Brown (just to name some I know) focus on the learning aspect of college rather than GPA, what are some other schools that are similar in the respect they would rather give you a great education than see your GPA real high.

and I know most of you will say, well thats every good school, but its not. for those who really know what I mean, please respond, but if you are going to make some moronic post criticizing my question, please just don’t respond.

I can’t name any others, but just to give your post a bump I do know what you mean. Growing up in Providence I know all about Brown’s practices. You don’t even have a class necessarily reflect towards your GPA. Now if only they taught those kids how to cross the street.

Wesleyan is rather like that. Vassar may be too.

If you want a more extreme side, Sarah Larwence doesn’t even give grades. Hampshire and Bard also come to mind.

Many LACs come to mind, particularly in the Midwest (CMC, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Grinnell, Beloit, Oberlin, Kenyon, Knox, et al).

swarthmore

Also UChicago and Oberlin are known for valuing the process of education over the end result, and the students don’t make a big deal about their grades.

Evergreen State, Antioch, St. John’s Annapolis and NM, Deep Springs (if you’re male)
