<p>on CB website, it says some colleges use sat essays to check the validity of application essay. Emory is one of them. Do they really check? My SAT essay is terrible! I never score more than an 8. but I do well in research essays in class and other essays when given more time.

<p>Gosh, I hope not! I got a 9 on mine and I applied to Emory…honestly, though, I would think that your actual essay (not the SAT one, the one on your app) and your overall writing SAT score are probably way more important.</p>
<p>Everyone knows that score on the SAT essay doesn’t correlate all that well with actual writing ability. There is absolutely no way that any college will say “oh gee, he only got an 8, no way could he have written this essay!”</p>
