Reading advice on collegeconfidential has given me a much more clearer perception of what I want in a college. And after experiencing how an amazing teacher can truly change his/her student’s perception on reality, I know what kind of classroom experience I want to have. I have been lucky enough to have three or four of these kinds of experiences: where I was constantly challenged, never un-engaged, and changed as an intellectual/person upon completion. I want to attend a college where every class is like that.(Maybe I am asking too much) I want to attend a college where I will be constantly exposed to new ideas from all fields of study.
Of course, every person finds different classes life changing. It depends on their academic background. So to give a sense of who I am:
I center all my pursuits around the goal of furthering math and science. As an example I want to learn how to play music so that I can better understand rhythm and structure which I hope to somehow apply to math and science. I want to learn literature for the same reason.
I am currently interested in the following schools(Do any of the following schools disagree with what I have mentioned so far?..An extremely strong science and math program is a must!):
Harvey Mudd
Caltech
MIT
Cooper Union
Northwestern(ISP)
uChicago
Swarthmore
Williams
Stanford?
Reed
Grinnell?
Marlborough?

Thanks guys!! Collegeconfidential people are the one of the best ever =)
