None of this is helping the OP.
And you know the real truth? Sorry, but plenty of folks take what they hear at face value. As I warned my own, beware of “I think it, so it much be true.” And it’s sister, “I read it somewhere, so it is.” Learn what more matters, than stats, stats, stats.
@lookingforward - I always enjoy your posts, but this one misrepresented the point of my own, which was only a statement about the possibility, even likelihood, of students without the highest GPA and standardized tests getting admitted to very selective schools because “they followed their own drummer” and didn’t give a thought to maximizing their admissions chances. I didn’t say anything about Asian-American students not fitting this alternative model of student, and therefore was not engaging in mindless stereotyping of Asian-American students. I was merely emphasizing the obvious point, which you make repeatedly in your own posts, that “holistic” admissions is about a lot more than test scores.
let’s not kid ourselves… racism in admissions against Asians exists. it may be difficult for some to admit but it exists.
and the biggest beneficiaries are whites as a group.
to the OPs question - the UCs are probably your best bet. good luck!
MODERATOR’S NOTE: There is ONE thread for discussions of AA or race in admissions. You can post about this topic in that thread.
