Colleges With Community-Feeling

I’ve been narrowing down my college search, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m really into colleges that have classes that aren’t just students attending school together, but feel as if they are working together. It’s cheesy, but I like the feeling I get from Vassar. I want to attend a school much like Vassar, but I’m not exactly sure what other schools are like this.

I’d like to major in Psychology and my practice SATs tell me I’m ~1900. I live in Florida, but I’m not sure if there are any colleges in Florida that promote the campus I’m looking for.

Other selective liberal arts colleges would be similar to Vassar in terms of community. New College of Florida would be worth checking out.

Yes, definitely check out the other LACs. Eckard and New College in Florida. Possibly Rhodes and Hendrix, if you are trying to stay south. Less selective than Vassar but possibly the same vibe: Bard and Sarah Lawrence. Then take a look at Oberlin, especially if you are into music. And for understated and quirky, look at Grinnell.
