Good question.
Short answer: Just pay some bucks to get a fake diploma.

Why would you even ask this question? Then what is the point of going to college? Do you think people attend college just for a diploma? Ambitious people attend college because they are after two things: knowledge and the degree.

That’s pretty much the long answer.

There are some cheap ass colleges (and they are legally registered). I don’t think you would want that. It’s just a waste of money and time. Rigorous course work doesn’t necessarily reflects the benefits. It’s totally up to the person, of course. But good colleges expect their professors to respect teaching. That’s the bottom line. You don’t have to attend MIT or Harvard to get good education.

I’d say most colleges look at their teachings seriously, because college is a business.

I just trying to start some general discussion since this is a very open part of the forum. Some people would rather just party and enjoy the college experience and just get some type of degree at the end so they have something to show for the time and money spent going to college. Easy coursework allows them to enjoy as much as they want and still get a degree since at a rigorous or “good education” school you would have to sacrifice some in order to get a degree at the end.

arng218, here is how I interpret though.

The bottom line is that most reputable colleges (no rank is necessary in this context) are difficult. The question itself is also subjective. There are students chilling at MIT and still get great GPA. Some people struggle at community colleges too, and people generally have bias toward CC students. Not exactly.

You can find some easy professors on campus, but usually they are “liberal arts”. Upperclassmen in my engineering school warns me not to take any easy professor for major courses, because I will learned nothing and then I will fail upper-level classes.

When we enter college, we expect to sacrifice some of our funs already. Actually, college is like having a job. Maybe it is hard to pull over now, but a good education usually returns good salary.

yes, again many people just get a degree with the bare minimum gpa like a 2.0 and then expect to get a good enough job since they did something more than high school and expect to make more money than someone with just a high school diploma
