Colleges with Quotas for Schools

I understand colleges will say explicitly they don’t practice quotas. However it makes sense for them to say they don’t, otherwise it would drive away applicants from applying to their institution, raising the acceptance rate, and thus losing its “prestige”. So, what are some schools often suspected of using quotas?

Colleges which place high importance on class rank may be what you are thinking of.

No, not exactly to what I’m referring to. I’m thinking more when the top of the school’s applicants who are extremely close base on rank, and while having similar applications, the university only selects one or two from the group, and there being a pattern of only one or two students being selected every year. @ucbalumnus‌

This is an urban legend and there is no need to start a conversation whose only potential outcome is to unnerve applicants/prospective applicants. Closing.
