<p>Study it carefully, I would say schools that tend to consider high SATs and essays over high GPAs have less type A people. Although there is nothing wrong with type A people, and they are everywhere, but if you are not aggressive “President Of The Club crowd” type A , you feel annoying with too many of them around :)</p>

<p>IMO the top public universities have more of a mix. So you have your type-As, but you have everything else in the range.</p>

<p>If you’re willing to look a little bit smaller in terms of the size of the student body, many liberal arts colleges tend to lean more toward the collaborative/cooperative side.</p>

<p>In my mind, “Type A” has more to do with whether one has an assertive-aggressive and charismatic personality.</p>

<p>That’s not necessarily true. A fair amount of overachievers I know freak out about time and are very competitive.</p>

<p>I’ve heard that Pomona is like the antithesis of the Type A personality, is this true?</p>

<p>I certainly hope so–that’s one of the main reasons I chose Pomona. Students there are pretty laid back and not competitive, while still managing to be extremely dedicated and accomplished in whatever they choose to do.</p>
