<p>Hello everyone- hope that the collective wisdom of parents on CC can help me again. My teenage daughter had a (very good quality) color scan of her passport stolen in Europe last week. And yes, it was pickpocketed in a city often mentioned here for being notorious for that! PM me if you want the name of the city. She has a police report. I didn’t contact anyone while she was still over there, as I didn’t want any trouble reentering the U.S. However, now that she is home, who should I contact? Or, is it even neccessary to report it?</p>
<p>I asked a coworker (an immigration inspector) your question and he felt that it was not necessary to report it. You might still want to give a call to the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778, just to double check, but I don’t think they will do much. As long as the passport itself wasn’t stolen, they won’t do much.</p>
