Several people on Grad Cafe have noted that they were able to tell whether they were accepted/rejected through the “website.” There’s a website?!

[Application Status](http://www.columbia.edu/cu/gsas/pages/pstudents/admissions/status/index.html)

^Read through this link. It has directions on how to check your application status.

Thanks. I am trying to follow the directions, but I don’t have the “application status” link on my application. I am applying for engineering and the link you posted is for arts and science, if it makes a difference. Some people who applied for my major claim they were able to see their status through the website though.

[Application Status and Admission Decisions | The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science - Columbia University](Graduate Admissions | Graduate Student Affairs)
^here’s the info about application status regarding engineering.

Also, take what you read on the grad cafe results page with a grain of salt. A lot of times people post stuff on the results page that aren’t true. It’s their way of messing with nervous applicants.

cut and pasted from the link above:

How will I be notified of the decision on my application?

You may be informed by the department to which you applied by email or phone call. However, this type of notice is not a guarantee of admission until a verification of documents submitted is completed by the Graduate Student Services Office (GSS). The official notice of an accept offer will be communicated to you by the Graduate Student Services Office in a formal letter.
