I know the Ivies are not typically recognized for their athletics, but is it possible that being one of the best golfers in your respective municipality may increase your chances of getting accepted? Academically, I’m also pretty solid being in the IB program, and scoring decently on my SATs. Any advice or opinions? Thanks.

I wouldn’t say that’s a tipping factor, no.

Only if you’re good enough to play on the golf team. Being “one of the best” in your city may mean nothing.

I’ve seen their teams scores, and have been in contact with their coach, and I definitely think I’m qualified enough and capable enough to play on their team.

Well in that case, I think the coach can recommend you, but I dont think it’ll get you in automatically.

I cant imagine the golf team has many spots reserved in admissions…in fact, i’d bet they have 1 or 2 considering the work of Diane Murphy.
