@dr0wning, if you’re within the top 10% of your high school (which you clearly are), that’s a normal GPA for a columbia acceptance. A 3.8 unweighted in a very competitive high school is a high GPA, whereas a 3.8 UW in a low-achieving high school (where that 3.8 puts you more at the 70th percentile) may be low. GPA is not absolute, it’s considered very heavily in context of your school.
I just checked last year’s thread and it seems like people who didn’t get the email actually got in… I re-read the email and the wording really makes me worried. “You may request that a copy of your decision letter be mailed to you after you receive it online; further instructions will be available when you check your decision.” It directly addresses “you” in case you want a physical copy, which, of course, means you are rejected, and instructions on how to acquire it will be available when “you” check “your” decision. Maybe I’m thinking too much, but I’m seriously worried.

@TrapCazDEV I dunno – why would they not send that email to accepted individuals? This feels like either a superstition or a glitch that happened last year. I can think of any reason that would happen.

Also, who would want to request a copy of their rejection letter? I really don’t think the emails mean anything, we are all just crazy and nervous at this point.
@TrazCapDEV seriously, don’t worry about it. That email is (supposed) to be sent to everyone who applied, if you didn’t get it it’s possible it was filtered into promotions/social/spam, something went wrong with columbia’s listserv, or there was some human error in making sure you were on that list (which is possible and happens). I got in and got that same email two years ago, but clearly people who didn’t get it also got in. It’s not a predictor of anything.

Ugh guys I didn’t do too well last year bc of family issues/mental shït and I just asked my counselor if Columbia asked for a progress report (for this semester) and they didn’t 
I’m kinda mad because I asked her to send one in through common app at the beginning of November but she said that they would ask for one lol goddamn
