Going into the Marketing Communications with a focus in PR Major

AP US History taken in High School with a 3 on the exam

University in the HS Program through a local state college for French

91 Overall High School Average

3.7 overall GPA I will be graduating with an associates degree in liberal arts with many classes in my Marketing concentration.

English is my strongest subject so my essay was reviewed by people who said it was very good, true to the topic and full of confidence and personality.

First off, thank you for chancing me. Now, I’m sorry to say that it’s incredibly hard for me to say anything based off of nothing but info like submitting 2 recs. . .can you list your SAT/ACT scores?

Wait a minute…I though you meant Columbia University; your scores probably aren’t as important at columbia college in Chicago as they would be at the ivy league university. It sounds like you had good recs and a pretty darn good essay and your GPA is fairly impressive. You have also tried pushing yourself by taking an AP class and did fairly well in it. I’d say you have a pretty good chance. Good luck

My school unfortunately didnt offer nearly as many APs as schools in other states or I definitely would have taken advantage. My SAT was horrible! hahaa I’m a good student and I even studied but man the SAT… I honestly don’t think a test like that really shows how well you can succeed. Half the stuff on the exam I hadnt even covered in my honors classes yet

With the information you’ve given you seem like a strong applicant, but I feel it might hinge on how bad this standardized test score really is. If you broke 900/1600 then I think you are over 50% chance given the strength in other parts of your application. Thank you for the rec and good luck.

It’s bad. I got like 1600/2400. Which I am an exceptional student I dont know how I did so terrible because it was completely unlike me but I guess it’s all about the style of the test. I probably should have left more blank than I did or something

when I called they said that standardized test scores arent really looked at thats why I didn’t bother posting it
