<p>I’m considering applying ED to columbia college this year. </p>
<p>Yet, I’m not certain about whether I’ll like the core curriculum.
I am science and math guy, but the reason why the core appeals to me is because I think good writing+reading skill will be crucial whatever I do… Plus they will be good prep for the verbal section in the MCAT. Only problem is… I don’t like writing nor humanities…</p>
<p>Schools like Caltech and MIT don’t appeal to me, because I’m not 100% into engineering. I’m more geared toward doing tech business/startup or going to a medical school. If I major in engineering from those schools, I’m pretty sure that I won’t have medical school as my option as my gpa will be slaughtered.</p>
<p>My friend is going to columbia college this year with similar mind set. He is planning to do double major/one concentration and one major in chemistry and computer science from columbia college. His basic plan is doing startup and going to medical school as a backup in case his plan fails.</p>
<p>I’ve heard that computer science major from columbia college won’t kill gpa as much as it would if it was from columbia seas.</p>
