ziv_2k:
did you interview? and do you have previous college coursework under your belt? thanks! and congrats on getting in! :)

Congrats on being accepted ziv_2k!

Can someone please respond to my post above? Thanks in advance.

No interview, and I will be going with an Associates degree. I am completing a 30 month Occupational Therapy Assistant degree at my current school

To have a shot for this semester you need to submit everything THIS WEEK. Deadline is Nov
bare in mind you must submit ALLL transcripts even the ones from the era you didnt perform well in school. Failure to do so will result in academic dishonesty and your admission will be rescinded.
in your essay explain why your grades were lacking and what has changed since then that you are now getting straight A’s

good luck

and thanks everyone for the well wishes, let me know if you guys are accepted as well, would be nice seeing all of you on campus…!
= )

Has anyone taken the interview? And what kind of questions do they usually ask?

I am currently in Seattle, and couldn’t do an in-person interview unless it was dire… do you know if they do phone interviews?

This is for Spring 2010… kind of surprised they contacted me so early. I finished my application a little less than 2 weeks ago.

Argh, I’m gonna die… wondering if interview is a good or bad thing. EFF.

do a lot of people get in without interview? how does it work, any other people who applied at early decision get their answers?

I didnt get called for an interview, and got a decision back last friday…
From what they explained during the info session they usually call for an interview if they need you to clarify something on your application…

but who really knows…

Goodluck!!!

holy moly… i just had my interview, and i think i didn’t do so well…

basically, he asked me about why i had gaps in my education… and i put down comp sci as a major i was interested in, so he asked me why i picked that major, and if i didnt like it, what else i would be interested in studying at columbia…

yeah… i dont think i did well at all LOL

Did anyone else have their application Financial Aid status change to Received and Completed?

I am just wondering if this is a generic path in the application process. I don’t want it to get my hopes up.

Bump - - I read Ziv’s post about how they don’t process the financial aid until one is accepted, but I’m unaware of the validity of the statement. So if anyone else had their financial aid status change, please let me know. I really don’t want to assume the best at this point… if it winds up being a sense of false hope.

Anyways, best of luck to all other applicants!

Sorry for the triple post… but I found out that it’s nothing to be alarmed about and that decisions will (probably) be mailed a week from today on the 16th.

Good luck.

i guess the interview went better than expected… i got a call yesterday that ive been given an offer…

now i only want to know how much my aid is going to be… ugh… the anxiety!

the statement, in my humble opinion, IS valid since its based on what Skip BAiley (the financial aid coordinatorzu told us at the info session

yoyogirl, GS typically provides 6-8 thousand the rest is outside scholarships and loans

Just finished Part 1 for Fall 2010 and am now working on Part 2. Did anyone else attach additional sheets for extracurriculars/awards received? I’m wondering if they just want your top 3?

AHHHH I’M IN!!!

Package arrived just as I was talking to my cousin about Columbia University. I went outside to check the weather and there she was right before my eyes… stealthy Fedex delivery guys!

congrats on your acceptance…
so what do u think about the financial aid notice now?
; )

see ya on campus!

I wasn’t given very much merit-based scholarship at all… trying to decide if i should stay at nyu (where i get more aid, but i HATE the school) or go to columbia…

i have 1 week to decide… ■■■

CU gives a lot less $ in their GS program, but if you hate NYU then i would say transfer over and just apply for outside scholarships and put some of the tuition on student loans…
