CC is in Latin, but SEAS is in English. They both look the same (same font, same paper size, same formatting, etc.). If you’re in a dual degree program, I’m pretty sure that you get two diplomas. If you double major, you still only get one (majors aren’t even listed on there).

thanks columbia 2002

What is the size of the diploma? Is it really non-standard size that would force you to either custom made a cover or buy overpriced frame from CU bookstore?

There’s some more info here: [Diplomas - WikiCU, the Columbia University wiki encyclopedia](Diplomas - WikiCU, the Columbia University wiki encyclopedia)

but it doesn’t really say what the exact size is.

anyone knows the exact size of CU diploma?

12.5 in. by 10.5 in.

how do u know?

Seems pretty standard. I was visiting a family friend recently and her SEAS diploma was about the same size as her husband’s BS and MS diplomas from another school.

I don’t think that there’s a conspiracy to manipulate diploma size to boost frame sales. After all, our book store is just a retrofit Barnes & Noble.

I measured a BC diploma which looks about the same size as the CC diploma.

According to wikicu, Columbia’s diploma size is larger than standard, which forces graduates to buy special-sized frame from the bookstore.

Yeah, but if WikiCU is an encyclopedia, it’s an encyclopedia of silliness, sentiment, and half-truths at the expense of Columbians, past and present.

I thought wikicu is quite helpful. Most of the stuff there seems to be true to me even though the tone might be a little sarcastic sometimes (not necessarily a bad thing).

wikicu seems about 75% true. The question is which is the 25% that’s not.

Does anyone know when the registrar will mail out the diploma? I am set to officially graduate on October 19th, 2011. Do they mail out the diploma on Oct. 19th sharp?

???

Did any October graduate receive their diploma in mail yet?

just got my diploma in the mail… it is indeed 10.5 in. by 12.5 in., just in case someone wants to know.

definitely curious if they made the choice on this size to boost the sale of frames in the CU bookstore… where else have you seen a frame that would fit a 10.5 by 12.5 diploma?
