well international students are ALWAYS at a disadvantage, and there’s just no two ways about it
you have really good test scores, a mediocre GPA, and you could work on your EC’s
but i think you have a shot

yeah i know iam very disadvantaged cuz i need alot of aid… may be 100%… and Columbia isn’t needblind…

[Need-blind admission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Need-blind admission - Wikipedia)

yeah thanks… but not for international students…

anyone else willing to help???

Well, I’ll start off by stating two important points you probably already know: You are in the hunt for all the schools, but disadvantaged from being an overseas applicant. You certainly look like a very bright good applicant, but there are just too few available “slots” at top schools. I would guess acceptance rates in your situation for your top six are really in the 5-10% range.
If you want brutal honesty (my opinion, which is only that), from a parent with kids going to schools on your list–and familiar with acceptances and rejections from others on your list…
Your top 6 are definite big reaches and the nest 2 are reaches, but more possible.
Give your application a killer essay.
And good luck!

thank you so much… i knew that iam have very little chance of getting into any… Are you willing to read my 1414 word essay and critique it?? thanks so much
