@Congrats They do not specify how many credits they desire for transfer or applications in general. Did you have a gap in school since high school?
@MnMarine00 Nah I’m a transfer. I don’t have a gap, just like a traditional student. Just a transfer. It’s applicable to GS tho.

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. I just applied to GS (application submitted 18SEP19). Everything has been received (with the exception of my official GSAE scores).
What do you guys think is considered a good score on the GSAE?
@MegsNY You will not receive a score upon completion and Columbia doesn’t share the score as the GSAE is for internal purposes only.
@MegsNY I’m in the same boat as you. I’m submitting my essay tonight and haven’t taken the GSAE yet.
Is the GSAE required to be completed before the Early Action Deadline (Oct 1) to be considered for Early Action Admission (Nov 15)? Or will they be able to start reviewing my application?
@dan0543 They don’t start reviewing until all of your materials are submitted. But I believe that as long as you submit your app by the no later than date, you will get a response by the date as shown. At least that’s what they told me after my materials were in.
@MnMarine00 I received my GSAE scores the day I took the test. I don’t know why, but they sent me my scores via email.
@dan0543 I reached out to the admissions office and was told that as long as you take your GSAE before November 1st, you will still receive your decision by November 15th. Of course everything else needs to be submitted prior to the October 1st deadline.

@MegsNY Interesting. I’ve never heard of them sending out GSAE scores before. Do you mind sharing stats?
@MnMarine00 I received 280 on both the reading and writing tests and a 7 on the essay.
@MegsNY I honestly can’t remember the score ranges since I never got my score back. I assume that’s pretty good though. Did you attend school while in the Navy?
Also - anyone here from the Sept. 1 deadline been contacted about an interview yet? I haven’t gotten anything. I’ve heard it’s not always required.
@MnMarine00 I am from the sep 1st deadline. I didn’t receive anything except that my application is ready for the review process.
I think we will receive a decision on the 2nd
@MnMarine00 No, only A school and C school, but no college classes. I am in school now though. I have over 50 credits thus far.
