Columbia interview committee??

My interviewer sent me an email that said a committee will be interviewing me. Does that mean this will be a panel-style interview?

The email specifically said-
Dear Candidate:
I am an alumnus of Columbia College and the Chairman of its Alumni Recruitment Committee (“ARC”) for the Camden area, and in that capacity I am writing to extend an invitation for an admissions interview.
The Committee is responsible for offering the option of interviews to local candidates for admission. This year, the Committee will be interviewing in my office on Monday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 17, 2009, commencing at 6:30 p.m.
Please note that this is not a necessary part of your application, but is offered by our ARC merely as a option for local candidates; whether or not your are interviewed will have no controlling effect on the status of your application or the decision on your admission.

it sounds like group interview

NO the committee is an international organization with over a thousand members but you will have only one sitting in front of you for your interview. The “chairman” are alums who assign individual students to specific interviewers in a geographic area, in your case Camden. Group interviews are not the norm.

thanks so much! I was nervous haha
