I have the option of having an interview in CT in two weeks and was wondering would it hurt my chances at getting into Columbia if I cant go to the interview??

dude are you out of your mind, the answer to this question is obvious. Of course it would affect your chances of getting into Columbia, I mean they wanna get to know you as a person you know. If you dont go, it will look bad as they will be suspecting that maybe you didnt go on purpose or something and then they will think bad of you. And what the hell can be more important than this interview for Columbia? Dude forget everything else and just go to the interview…

I disagree, if you have a legitimate reason and you can’t do anything about missing it then I think they’ll understand, it isn’t your fault. it really depends how important what you’re missing the interview for is.

If you’re offered interview, but don’t want to accept that offer, the alumnus just writes a report saying that you were offered an interview, but declined.
How the admissions interpret that is beyond me, but I don’t think it’ll hurt you if you decline
