I’ve never studied abroad before (and am living in a non-english speaking country) i started learning English as my second language since i was 6 years old and now im pretty sure that im quite fluent w/ it :D</p>
<p>Graduation: 2010</p>
<p>Major: undecided </p>
<p>School: very very competitive ( actually, my school is the most prestigious and competitive school in our country. Annually about 30 seniors go to Ivy leagues(out of bout 100 students T) for ex, last year 2 went to Harvard, 3 Yale, 4 Stanford, 4 Princeton, 5 Columbia, 1 Amherst, 2 Williams, 4 UPENN (2 Wharton) and several Dartmouths… oh and about 30 ppl got into Berkeley and i know it’s crazy…(though most of’em didn’t end up going there) Our school was introduced in NY times as the best prep school in our country… oh whatever, my point: Very very competitive :D</p>
<p>courseload: very rigorous</p>
<p>GPA: 3.98/4.00 (i still have one year to go, but im sure i can maintain this GPA)</p>
<p>Rank: school doesn’t rank but im like top 6%? of bout 100 students, not sure</p>

<p>i know my ECs are very weak… but i still have one year to go, so i hope it will get better…:)</p>

<p>a. Founder/ leader of a student street campaign organization -3yrs
-> i organize monthly campaigns about the human rights of foreign workers in my country. Basically, in my country, there are about 20,000 foreign workers (mainly from Vietnam, Iran, Pakistan, China, Indonesia and Phillipines) whose human rights are not always guaranteed by the government - so i recognized the seriousness of this issue and started a voluntary student organized campaigns. We were introduced in a prestigious newspaper.</p>
<p>b. Volunteer work at Free Clinic for Foreign Workers - 3yrs
c. appointed as a Junior participant in Asia Human Rights Forum and also elected as a group representative in the forum
d. qualified as a participant in a Junior debate forum about the human rights of Foreign workers
e. Founder, leader of a human rights club (in school)</p>
<p>f. volunteer work @ the biggest organization related to Foreign Workers in our country -> i teach my mother tongue to the Foreign workers there, cuz they have difficulties living in my country w/o speaking native tongue. -2yrs</p>
<p>plus, i and several others publish weekly newspaper for the foreign workers who are not fluent in our native tongue - we heard that most of’em couldn’t know what’s goin on in their own countries so we kinda got this idea of publishing newspapers - 2yrs</p>

<p>** before you go on,
i wanna tell you guys that my situation is quite different from yours.
in my country, b/c of some differences in educational system, we don’t usually have a lot of time for our ECs. and b/c our school has a long tradition of sending great students to prestigious schools in the States, we know that American colleges understand this particular situation in our school…
so plz consider that fact toooooo :D</p>
