Columbia School of General Studies, Northwestern School of Professional Studies, UPenn LPS

My education journey has been a bumpy ride. I graduated HS with a 2.9 GPA. I went to community college for a semester, got 2 Fs, dropped out, and returned two years later.

I’m in my 2nd semester, and I have straight As.

Growing up, I was the oldest of 9 kids. School wasn’t a priority for my parents. They did not care, so I then decided not to care. I have been working since I was 15 to help pay for the bills. All of my free time went to working, and all my money went to my parents. School was never a priority…until now. I seriously regret my past life.

I moved out of my parents house about a year ago, and my life has improved immeasurably. I’m working and going to school. I am writing articles on film for a local film website.

I want to transfer to Columbia School of General Studies, Northwestern School of Professional Studies, or Upenn Lps and study film. I talked with a senior at UPenn, and he said the financial aid for the LPS is just as good as the financial aid for the regular college of Arts and Sciences.

What is the acceptance rate? Is the financial aid as my friend said? I won’t have anyone to co-sign my loans, so good Financial aid is a must.

I’m from Pittsburgh, and Pitt is wildly expensive for an in-state school.

Any advice?

Edit- I would also have to work more than 25 hours a week, and these school encourage that and nontraditional students like me. My grades have also improved after I was diagnosed with ADHD, and started taking meds for it
