Columbia to USC

Hello. I am a film major at Columbia University, trying to transfer to USC’s cinematic arts program. My GPA is around a 3.2, hopefully higher at the end of next semester. I was just wondering what my chances are of making it into USC, given that my GPA is around 3.3. Does transferring from Columbia help my chances at all? Thanks, all!

Most accepted transfer students have a 3.7 GPA or higher, according to the USC website.

Yeah, I saw that, but I was wondering if coming from Columbia could make up for that in any way.

op, disregard that other comment. they emphasize the 3.7 gpa mainly for CC transfers, wherein a 3.7 would be infinitely easier to attain than columbia. you have a good shot if you work on essays.
