mec12891, I’m in CT too! where in CT are you?

guys. i can’t believe in less than 24 hours we’ll know!!!

less than 19 hours!!

i know! i keep looking at the countdown on my phone…18 hours 48 minutes until 5 pm…

hwoo09 i’m from fairfield county how about you?

i have a feeling that these last 19 hours are going to go by slower than the last three days combined. sigh…

mec12891, I’m in Wallingford, New Haven County.

Good to know another CT person!

ahhhh TODAY IS THE DAY GUYSSSSSSSSS!!!

good luck everyoneeee!

i have an MIT interview at 3 and prob wont make it home before 5, so all im going to be doing is staring into the interview’s face like “O_O omg columbia”

hahah good luck! just make sure when they ask why you ant to go there … you dont get mixed up =P hehe

haha thanks. awww damn, you just reminded me that ive done a less than desirable amount of in depth research on MIT for this interview because of columbia O.o

Guys, the Columbia Class of 2013 Facebook group is OFFICIAL!

[Welcome to Facebook! | Facebook](Redirecting...)

I think it was just created by the Admissions staff. In past weeks, I haven’t seen it when I’ve searched.

They are preparing for the accepted students. It’s coming so quickly. This is REALITY.

So alas we have arrived to big day. =). It was honestly a mission to get on cc, as the server was apparently too busy, which means everyone is freaking out, haha. Well, I really wish you all the best of luck. It has been a pleasure meeting all of you, and this forum has been of great help alleviating the anxiety.
Hope today becomes an unforgettable memory and not a repressed one ^_^.
Cheers.

its so official…

only about 16 more hours left.

oh my goodness.
i’m having so much trouble concentrating.
i live in columbia’s time zone, so it’s 1:15 am here, and i still have an essay to write/edit
however, i can’t stop staring at the counter i have in a full screen window from timeanddate.com… it’s very frustrating because I CAN’T WAIT and i have this odd feeling that i’m going to get rejected because there’s a pit in my stomach and i feel nauseous and i have a major headache.
and this essay is still due tomorrow, no matter how much i tell myself i don’t want to do it.
however, i do have to mention that if i didn’t have this forum, i wouldn’t have you guys to keep me relatively sane in the last hours of this ordeal.
thank you all, i truly appreciate the companionship.
this forum is worth staying up late for.

Just wondering, is anyone here really confident that he/she will get in? Most posts I’ve seen are quite pessimistic… I don’t blame you – it is tough.

Either case, good luck to all of us!!!

How much do you think Columbia relies on numbers (scores/gpa) to make their decision? From what I’ve heard, I thought that Columbia was one of the Ivies that viewed admissions more comprehensively…?

Well…
I don’t know for sure, but I heard that it doesn’t matter AS MUCH as the a lot of the other Ivies and prestigious schools. but of course they do take it into account.

lol, my guess/hope is that they use numbers as a basis (just to make sure you’re capable of handling ivy-leveled work). After that, they treat everyone equally. like they’d compare a 2100 SAT applicant with a 2300 applicant not so much on their SAT scores, but focus on other aspects – essays, recs, etc. But again, just my guess.

WHEEEEEEE

no day but todayyy

IWA1409…I’m in Delhi right now (visiting family)…it’s really boring…all i do is sit around and watch the columbia countdown thingy…
