@sssss123123 yeah they do
https://www.quora.com/What-is-it-like-to-get-into-Columbia-University
someone posted this link earlier but this is apparently what happens if u get into columbia
I’m like gonna get no sleep tonight cuz I have so much work to do :’( I might as well stay up all night so to school and sleep when I come home all the way through when they give out decisions
Good luck from Yale SCEA!!!
1420 SAT, 96.80 GPA (94th out of 1099 seniors). Arrived in the US 5 years ago. Now I am the Company Executive Officer in my Junior ROTC Unit, Academic Team Assistant commander, and Chief-in-Editor of Broadcasting Club at my school.
Everyone said it’s crazy for me to apply CU with these stats. However, no matter how the fate will ordain, I was truly happy to assess myself through this unforgettable application process
Hope you guys receive the result you wanted!
im glad we have some score diversity in this thread haha. sometimes it seems like everywhere you look is just 36s and 4.0s so it’s nice that everyone here is different enough where we all have strengths in certain areas
i think i saw a few people on this thread with a 30-32 ACT but with awesome ECs, and i think that’s really cool actually bc it just shows everyone isn’t the same
less than 19 hours left I literally just threw up.
@KanyeEast69 Oh no are you sick or is it from the anxiety?
@KanyeEast69 I know you’ve probably heard this a million times but please don’t stress yourself to the point where you are getting physically sick
I know this process is super stressful but maybe be a little more positive about what might happen when you check your decision at 7pm. You never know! @1984ad yeah it really is nice to see scores that aren’t 1600s and 4.0s because it makes me stress less about the fact that I only have a 1410
@mysticmangoqueen unfortunately anxiety.
Less than 12 hours before the site goes down for maintenance. Less than 18 hours before results come in!
@rainbowbitch I felt like that as well! My college counsellor already told me that I have a 0% chance of getting in due to my testing scores, so this makes me at least a bit hopeful that I at least had a small chance.
@rainbowbitch Yes, they want to admit people that will succeed academically, so they look at your rank to see how well you’ve done compared to your peers. Is that an unweighted or weighted rank?
tbh i think the columbia ED acceptance rate will stay in the range of like 15-17%
dont know if this would be a consolation for anyone else, but im super excited for star wars this weekend so im kind of trying to use that to distract me— regardless of whether i get in or not, ill at least have that to look forward to
Good luck from the Dartmouth ED thread!!!
I think 1450 and above is essentially competitive enough. Of course, a 1500+ is especially safe, but yeah, I think 1450+
I really hope that the difference between a 1430 and a 1450 is negligible to adcom, because I’m at a 1430
@KanyeEast69 Oh no, hunnyy
Relax, drink some hot chocolate (or whatever hot beverage you enjoy lol), read a good book/watch some netflix, and treat yourself to some ice cream!! There’s nothing you can do to this point, and everything is gonna be okay no matter the result. Just the fact that you APPLIED to Columbia shows that you are an ambitious and qualified individual, so no matter where you end up you’re gonna kill it. If Columbia rejects you then THEY DON’T DESERVE YOU
rip my SAT superscore is 1440
@cursedcaptain same! funny enough, my uncle bought tickets for my brother and I to see the premiere tonight…at 7pm lol. So I’m going to check before the movie and use the movie to cheer me up from my rejection/deferral
