Columbia University ED Class of 2022

@ggiggles haha whyd you retake a 34? that scores basically perfect for all schools

@katewithak same :)) im wearing all black lol

just noticed that I am wearing the Columbia colours by accident as well - maybe fate is on my side (though I don’t think so). It is already 9pm here and I cannot believe I have to stay awake until 1am to see my decision :frowning:

@1984ad i wasnt going to but i really wanted a 35. and i was like 2 years from now i dont want to be like “if i only had taken the act one more time i could have been at columbia” which is dumb ik but oh well

Do you guys know if our guidance counselor hear our results before we do? Like how many people from our school were accepted or something like that.

I have never been this stressed out in my life. Three and a half hours guys!

@mxrxsxa your guidance counselor won’t know before you. this is a moment just for you :slight_smile:

They do find out the next morning, I think. This morning our counselors called in the kids who got into Princeton (who had not told them they had gotten in yet).

Good luck everyone!! xx

@Kimx1719 that’s odd; wasn’t princeton yesterday?

Yup, which is why I think they might get an email or something the next morning?

From Bwog:

“Applicants to the Class of 2022 will be able to view their decision after tonight at 7 pm ET. Barnard’s were released Tuesday with an increased number of applications; Columbia itself said that it “received 4085 Early Decision applications to Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science”, exactly one application fewer than last year. The Admissions Department is not releasing any information on acceptance rate or class composition at this time.”

So, the increase rate was negative this year! Hopefully the stats remain the same.

@katewithak haha yes, a -0.02% change lol

i think we might be able to expect anywhere from 650 to like 675 acceptances depending on the strength of the pool

Interesting! I think last year was a record-high too, jumping at least 600+ from Class of 2020?

I told my parents that the decision comes out tmw so i’m not dying when I tell them the result of it all.

But i’m gonna be video chatting my crush so that i’m not alone (gonna ask her out on new years day)

and the sun was like really bright when I came home today from my late bus so I hope thats an omen that I got in

@birjudhaduk if you wait until NY, your crush may no longer be available

@1984ad @katewithak @AcademiaSavvy Sorry, its just like the word we use between the 2 of as cuz she just used it the first time so i accidentally used it without thinking, again sorry if I offended any of you.

@1984ad Yeah, I won’t. And looks like I’m “jailed” now. Sorry College Confidential

On that happy note, we have 90 minutes left!

i truly have no idea if i’m gonna be accepted or rejected or deferred. people said nice things on my chanceme post a while back, but i know that isnt exactly reliable =))

The fact that so many of my classmates, friends, and family members are all waiting for this single decision to come out today – that just made my overall confidence lower and anxiety higher.
