10th grade. Was rejected last year, my essay was more poetic this year, but I just read it and it had like 5 errors. Better recommendation I think. My science score was slightly higher, challenge math was lower.

I got accepted! This is my second try.
I am an Asian Male (Indian) in 10th grade
Easy Math: 100% prob
Science prob between 65-70 (i left four blank)
Hard Math: 10/15 (Guys hard math is really easy but I kept making stupid mistakes cause i didnt read the questions right. I finished with 20 min to spare and didnt look over my work. I made four mistakes but im assumin guessing penalty of 25% 
dont make my mistake)

I actually walked out of Pupin Hall pretty sure I screwed up and I had no chance. So DON’T GIVE UP HOPE!

Challenge: 10/15 (This is why I though I got rejected. Made too many silly mistakes on this part)
As you can see, my scores were pretty low for a junior which makes me think that the rest of your app DOES matter!
I had a pretty high gpa and decent recs. My essay was also pretty well written.

Asian female, grade 9, currently taking all honors with all A’s. Essay consisted of typical stuff like participation in Princeton Olympiad, Science Olympiad, Science Bowl in middle school etc. Not too sure about how rec came out because teacher was writing it at last minute the day before deadline.
Eh I try not to let it bother me too much. A bit disappointed since I have nothing to look forward to during the summer. Hope I can meet all of you smart and determined scientists next year!
Hi guys, I GOT ACCEPTED WOOOHOOO!!!
First of all, I think I absolutely bombed that test, but I chalk it up having a swim meet that morning and a granola bar for breakfast…
Anyways, the reason I commented is that I have been stalking this chat for quite a while and I see all these test scores. I honestly believe that my essay pulled me through. For all future applicants, there are other sections for a reason and I dont think you should emphasis one thing over another. I think they are looking for bright students who show an interest in science and mathematics and not just accomplishment-studded ones but thats just my take on it.
I look forward to seeing all of you in September:D
