gdi im so scared… my challenge math score isn’t that high
50/50 easy math
60/75 science
13/15 challenging math
chances of getting in?
im a sophomore and my grades at school are A-. so not special. im scare that my essay and rec will screw me over
@richardaye1 13/15 is low? Dude, if that’s your score you’re good.
Hey just finished this thread! So many posts, 178 pages. I’m taking the exam on the 16th in Room 301 Pupin Hall.
I’m a freshman but in a really high math class (multivariable calc?/linear algebra). How is the science part? I have not learned too much biology and only basic knowledge of other subjects.
The thread is getting quieter now. Come on, keep it up, celebrating 10 years on this thread!
the science part is something you cannot study for.
Duuuude. 13/15 on Challenge is legendary. You’ll be plenty fine
Is it true that you lose points for incorrect answers?
@derpyPeguin Yes, a fraction of a point for each (depends on the section, I’m not sure of exact quantities though)
How good is 10/15 for a sophomore on the challenge math? is it true that they consider that the most out of all the sections?
@shulkion123 I honestly don’t know about whether that score will get you in, I am freshman and haven’t taken the test yet, all I know is in this thread. But yes they count challenge math the most. However this doesn’t mean that a good science score doesn’t matter.
@shulkion123 I think that seems fine…I got in as a frosh and don’t do math comps whatsoever.
my grades were really good tho and I had a good essay. I think I got most right on the science and reg. math though, maybe 9-10 right on challenge? they don’t tell you so I can only guesstimate…challenge math is the most differentiating admissions test factor since the other sections are easier. however, you don’t need a perfect score or even do AMC!
Are you allowed to bring a calculator or no?
I’m pretty sure its no calculator but I will bring one in case
SecSeeBoi- Are you taking the test this Saturday?
If so, what room are you in? I’m in Room 329 Pupin Hall at 10:30am.
Hope to see you there!
@scietywi Room 312 Mathematics Hall
Btw I’m a sophomore, how about you?
I’m a Freshman so the odds are against me. At my school we learn bio then chem then physics. We barely learned chem and physics so I think the Science part will be a little hard.
Oh our school is kinda like that. Right now I’m taking Ap Bio but last year I had to take a class called Intro to Physics & Chem which is a mix of all of the science subjects I guess.
@SecSeeBoi I had the same issue (do we go to the same school? PM me if you go to MHS :P). But I do think they take into account the classes you take, b/c I’m in this year…and I definitely think I got like 30 q’s wrong for science.
@zenith99 No I don’t go to MHS, what state do you live in?
@zenith99 How hard is the science portion of the test? Is it focused more on bio or chem or physics?
I go to RHS. Anyone else? Its in NJ
