I think I got
48 Easy math
72-74 science
12 challenge math
(sophomore)
and no I couldn’t get the age of the three brothers question
@Aethersliver Nice! I’m also a sophomore.
Hey, the age question was fairly simple if you thought about it. You had the two ages in terms of each other, and you didn’t really need to find each one’s age, just the sum. I forget the nuances, but I played with the numbers so that I got two equivalent terms and partially solved as a system to get a sum of two people’s ages. My other equations was just plus a number (16 I think) so it was something + something + 16. I forget exact total answer, but I think it was 102? (May have confused with another question).
Sorry, forgot to tag @Aethersliver @WCEdmonds
Thanks @Ethan1602. Now that I actually think about the question and how it was worded, it DOES seem easier than I had made it out to be. Your score definitely seems competitive from what I’ve seen elsewhere. Now we just wait…
Hopefully, we’ll all get in! Best of luck to everyone =)
I got boned on that test:
48 math
55-65 science
8-11 challenge math
Im screwed
@simeonss That’s not necessarily true. I don’t think it’s just the test that they look at. Other than science, those scores seem very reasonable, and even with the ‘not amazing’ science score, you still shouldn’t give up!
@WCEdmonds I guess, but Im still worried about wrong answer penalties. I took a some educated guesses. Im not asian so i guess thats a plus for admission lol
@simeonss Were you by any chance in Pupin 329?
Hey everybody I just took the test today and I feel terrible… A lot harder then I expected
45 easy math
60 science
6 challenge math
Do I have any chance of getting in? Pls be honest ik I probably don’t lol
To get in the program, what is the least amount of right answers in each section you can get? And also, what is the penalty for guessing? And how do they know one was guessing?
@Bluwee I actually don’t think there’s a defined cutoff for the test, though I could be wrong. Also, they don’t “know” you guessed; there’s a penalty for any wrong answers of what I would assume to be -1/3 point. This way, random guessing doesn’t make sense; if you try, you’ll lose more than you would have if you had not answered at all, simply by the principles of probability.
Hey everyone I took the test yesterday as well and I def failed…
42-45 easy math
55-60 science (i didnt know any chem or physics and left literally everything blank)
7 challenge lmao i literally couldn’t do any of them
im def not going to get in but i guess it was a good experience
@scietywi No, I was in Pupin 428
I took the test yesterday too! It was pretty fun, and I’m hoping that I get in!!!
I took the test yesterday, and I have a question. How do they grade the test on the ones you skipped. Say you only answered 42 out of 50, do they grade it out of 42 then? Also, what does anybody think the relative minimum scores are to get in for a freshman?
@tennislover836 I definitely know how you feel, I could not do the challenge math either, I literally guessed in many of them. I am totally not getting in. :((
I wonder if there have been any students who just guessed in the questions they did not know and got lucky enough to get the question right and be admitted in the program.
I also wonder why when taking the test the professor encourages to not guess, like many students are going to do it anyways, there is a reason why everyone payed to take the test and made the time to go to the university.
Lmao for me the math was really easy but the science curriculum in my school is really bad so I think I failed the science I think I got
Easy math:49-50
Science-idk
Challenge-11
I did all the challenge problems just I didn’t feel too confident with some of the answers I got so I didn’t put them there
