Anyone else get in?

sure

nice @JumpyJLizard a lot of people from our district didn’t make it.

has anyone been in the program before and know how class selection works?

idk many people from my school that tried, though @ADITYAEMPIRE

@kapnic lol no
i’m going to wait and see

@kapnic I think its gonna be in the hardcopy letter they send us in July.

@JumpyJLizard I know like 10 freshmen at my school.

I got in too

What courses are you guys thinking about taking?

@kapnic
Did you take the exam this year?

My son did and got in. He has been looking at last semesters course catalog getting excited.

hey guys- I’m currently in the program right now. how is everyone liking their courses/does anyone have any suggestions for next semester? I’m a sophomore so I didn’t get my first or second choice course but hoping I will this semester! nevertheless if anyone has any suggestions please let me know bc there are SO many ranking spots!

what should I study for this exam? I have taken biology and am currently taking chemistry. I’m in 10th grade.

Hey, anyone taking the test this year? When did they delay testing to? Just curious lol

this is so early but I’m in the SHP program right now (I’m a sophomore) and I was wondering if anyone also in the program has any course recommendations for next semester! let me know if u took any courses that were super fun or interesting or perhaps where you really loved the professors!

@sn1124 Studying for the entrance exam really isn’t necessary. In fact, columbia’s science board states that no specific studying is required, as the test only encompasses the broad basics of each science category.

Are these dates still accurate?

Deadline for completed application and fee payment: February 28, 2020.
Personal test admission ticket available online: March 16, 2020.
Deadline for SHP’s receipt of transcripts and online recommendations: March 16, 2020.
Entrance examination dates: Either March 28, 2020 or April 25, 2020.
Notification of admission decisions: available by June 19, 2020.

@sn1124 I would have to disagree with lol0522 on that, the exam Is not a typical science test or math test for that matter, it is not as difficult as the AMC 10 problems 15-25 but considerably more advanced than school mathematics, and can and should definitely be studied for if necessary. The science section, in comparison to the maths section, is not that difficult but will cover contents in topics you haven’t learned yet, such as physics (circuits and kinematics) and earth science. Study for the test if you are not comfortable with AMC math or the science topics.

@ADITYAEMPIRE are there any sample examples/tests available which can be reviewed?
