Columbia University Science Honors Program ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Seriously guys this program is fun but don’t stress yourselves out.
The acceptance letter last year was like two or three pages and I don’t remember exactly but don’t freak out about the color! You can’t tell from the envelope. Lol I don’t think it matters what color the paper was because I’m sure by this time a year later they finished what they had last year and got new paper.
I don’t know what you mean by a deadline if you’re already accepted (you’re already in!) but they send out course choices in early September and they’re usually due about two weeks after you get the information.

Just remember, a rejection means lots of sleep Saturday mornings. (:

are the lectures really worth going to? or is it just another aspect one can decorate their resume for college with? i mean, my parents aren’t really psyched about driving me there every Saturday, so just wondering..

^ you could take thee train/subway

Guys, follow my philosophy and totally expect a rejection when you open the letter because

a) You will won’t feel as bad if you are rejected then if you were expecting or hoping for an acceptance

b) If you are accepted, you will feel so much more happier and elated than if you were expecting an acceptance and accepted.

Yeah that’s what I do when waiting to find out if I got into something…

Always expect the worst  It’ll save you from a lot of hurt in the long run

To awesepossum: if you pick a old class, definitely worth it. Besides if you miss too many lectures they kick you out!

To awesepossum: if you pick a good class, definitely worth it. Besides if you miss too many lectures they kick you out!

I’m going to be out of the country until Aug 18, and I won’t get my acceptance/rejection letter until then. Assuming that I am accepted, are there any forms that you have to send to them before that date? (Have there been in past years?) Or, do they expect an immediate confirmation or reply? Thank you so much.

Are we getting the letters today? Or are they mailed today and will be arriving after about 3-4 days?

I’m pretty sure no forms are sent out until September. If you are accepted they assume you’re in so all you have to do is choose your class.
Te letters should have been mailed today…

oh ok so they are mailed today? so we shouldn’t receive them today?

The past few years, according to this thread, the letters start coming on June 25

oh ok, thanks

Why don’t they just put the decisions online…

nooo June 25th? I’m leaving for China that day…

lol I know right… less anxiety from waiting for the mail PLUS it saves trees!

actually the first people get it 3 days after the decision date, from the older posts on this thread that I just read. so… june 23! NERVOUS

it’s sort of funny… 2 months ago, i was so nervous whether or not i will get in but now i could care less. probably because i already accepted i’m going to get rejected :P

OMG June 23rd, thats the same day for SAT II scores if any of you guys took it. this could be really good or really bad haha
