I’ve been through most of this thread, and it appears that Columbia does not post the results online (you cannot access them from the account you made) and they show up in your mailbox a few days after the 20th. I’m expecting mine this Friday (hopefully :D).

I was a freshman applying, my reccomendations and essays were solid but I didn’t do so great on the challenge math.

@AwesomePossum3 i’m in the same situation. i got 13/15 on challenge but like 45/75 on science. i think this can get me in, but hopefully you wrote a decent essay, because i wrote about my interest in guitar… lol

Looking back, I’m pretty sure they don’t pay any heed to your essays or reccomendations, mainly the entrance exam. At least that is what I have read in past posts/other threads.

I really hope I don’t get it June 23. I get my SAT scores back that day too and I don’t think I did too well…that could be a really great day or a really bad day…uh oh. Anyway, I’m in the same situation as some others. I don’t think I did so hot on the science, but I did do really well on the challenge and easy maths.

I was wondering, do you think they take the time to like check your application to see what sciences you’ve taken? Because I read the entire Barron’s Biology book the week before the exam, and I think that probably helped me on the science (I’ve never taken a biology class, I’m a freshman in chemistry). Because maybe if they see that you do really well in a subject even though you haven’t taken many classes on it you have a higher chance? But they probably don’t look that closely.

Rising Senior from Westchester, got in:) Letter was 2 pages and stated that there were over 2,000 applicants for 400 spots. Anyone else from Westchester or Greenwich CT? Anyone know anything about the classes and professors? Thinking of Computer Science, but have absolutely no background in it. Also thinking of Physics or Electrical Engineering.

Relativity was awesome, astronomy supposedly has a cool projector (lol) and nano is supposed to be good. I know nothing about cs or ee but i hear java is basically playing on computers.
