Cramming so hard but I’m pretty sure I won’t make it in (I’m hoping that the freshman curve will help me though :P).

Hamilton Hall, Room 516. Good luck everyone who’s taking the test tomorrow! We definitely need to compare answers after the test… :)

Haha, I’m going to totally blow this test (in the very, very bad way). I barely studied over break. I just hope what I know is going to get me through.
I’m a freshie, and by next year I’ll have all the subjects I need for this test down, so no biggie.
Ha. Ha. Ha… (<- nervous laughter)

BTW, guys. I don’t think we’re allowed to use a calculator. Yay for calculations by hand.
It’s tomorrow!

Schermerhorn Hall anyone?

Also, @Ninjacat14
There’s no curve. Why would they want to accept a rising sophomore when they could take someone more advanced in junior year?

Sooo, I’m so nervous for this test, I’m taking it tomorrow, and right now I’m trying to cram for it.. No idea where to start…someone who’s taken it before, can you please give me a detailed description of what’s gonna be on the test? What exactly should i study..Science & Math.. right now, i’m trying to do physics. taking chem this year, took bio last year..I heard the math was like AMC 10. Any info would be helpful! Thanks so much! :)

Anyone taking the test tomorrow in Havemeyer 309? I never took AMC, and am taking algebra 2 honors…do you get a lot of precalc questions? How many parts are there in the exam?
Best of luck to everyone—

@iHeartMath

I’ve never taken it before, but what I gather…
Sciences: Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics; all honors level. No AP level stuff.
Maths: Algebra I&II, Trigonometry, Geometry; no calculus.
There’s a easy math section (like SAT I level math), and a challenge level math (AMC10/12).

I’m taking it tomorrow too and I’m cramming. I’m not taking anything really seriously. Columbia did say that you shouldn’t study for it.
I’m reviewing.
Good luck!

Lol, can’t use HTML on here.

See y’all tomorrow!

@daphneloveschem, omg im in the same room as you!

hamilton hall too… hopefully its a good room! i didnt study… as usual -_- ■■■

So guys… What did you think?

49/50 reg math, 67/75 science, 12 or 13/20 challenge

i think i got 50/50 on math answered 69/75 of the science… but not sure if i got them all right QQ… and i think 20 on the “challenge” math

i am a sophomore

can anyone try to chance me?

you probably got in if that’s what you honestly scored.

@Kappadesu and all others

we should try to make a list of the answers of the “challenge” math section, if you tell me the questions ill try to tell you my solution/ what i got.

I wonder why we had 20 questions on challenge while those in march had 15

i took the test last year and there were 15 i thought it was strange, but they were really easy

you guys remember that one that was like, “a/|a| + b/|b| + c/|c| + abc/|abc|” and asked what is in the solutions set for nonzero integers?

I got [-4, -2, 0, 2, 4], as each one can only be either one or negative one.. you guys?

I screwed up the last 5 challenge math questions because I forgot they were there :o! I don’t think I got much else wrong. Probably 49/50 math (I always mess up one or two), 72/75 science, and 14-15 on challenge math. I answered everything except the last 5 challenge math problems (D’oh). Do you think I got in?

@Kappadesu I got {-4, 0, 4} because for you to get 2, three of the four terms would have to be 1, and only one to be -1. I made a list of all cases, and that’s not possible.

Also for the greatest three digit even number where hundreds digit and one digit is interchangeable, that number was 898 right, so the answer was 25?

And Cube who’s volume in ft^3 = surface area in ft^2, the edge was 6 ft right?

yeah i got 898 too and i also got 4 0 and -4 for that one
