Columbia University Science Honors Program ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

@SilverAurora- Thanks for explaining!!! And yeah its preposterous! I cant believe they delayed it. One more month…

Were you guys told that you will receive your test scores? Or just speculating? Because the decision letter comes with simply the letter of acceptance or rejection and a few statistics on who took the test. If this score thing is new then you guys are lucky! And great idea SilverAurora! Should immensely help future SHP applicants :)

Thanks  I don’t think we’re getting our scores, but everyone has a pretty good estimate of their score already, so we’ll just have to work off that XD

@cortana431: Do you know how many students they accept each year? Did you have to take the test each year and re-qualify?

oh no 22 more days

The site said we should get results in the mail by the 20th…it’s the 22nd, did they mean that they mail the letters on the 20th? I live in NJ, so when do you guys think my letter will arrive?

^ Check your e-mail. The mailing of results has been delayed until July.

2 more daysss

Well 2 days until they send it out. I heard it takes 3 or more days after that for the results to arrive.

Yeah, I live about 45 minutes from NYC and it took about 4 days to receive the decision letter.

Opinion559: I know they accept about 10% of applicants each year, but that may be different this year due to the changes. And yes, if you get rejected this year and you are not a junior (incoming senior), you may reapply and take the test again.

@Cortana431: Thanks for the info.

If I get accepted this year, then do I have to retake the test again to re qualify or once you’re in you stay till senior year? If so, does the acceptance rate of 10% includes the existing students?

Also, you mention some changes that have taken place? Can you please clarify what is different now from before?
I really appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions.

Ok, I checked the website “Students who are currently members of the SHP in good standing are entitled to continue in the program until graduation from high school and do not have to reapply for admission.”.

I think that answers my question and I assuming the 10% acceptance rate is for incoming students.

I wish they will simply update our logins instead of snail mail and relieve us of this suspense!

Has anyone received their decision letter from CSHP yet? I’ve been checking the mail anxiously for two days and haven’t received anything!!! AARGH

Nope. I suppose it will be here within the next day or two.

uhh nothing yet

geez I still didn’t receive anything. Did any of you get any results? Is there like a website for it- I couldn’t find anything
I thought we were going to get it within the few days of July 11th! I don’t think 5 days is equivalent to “a few days”. What’s going on, dear C.U. ?

I think it will come today. Has anyone checked their mail yet?

Didn’t come yet ***…

I still haven’t gotten anything -.-

I heard that apparently, it’s as slow for other the Columbia department’s acceptances.

I didn’t get anything either :frowning: hopefully tomorrow…
Is Columbia always late, like they don’t send out the results on the dates they say they will, or does it have something to do with the mail system?
