Columbia University Science Honors Program ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

I believe there have been three or four freshman on here who got rejected…

i live in manhattan and still havent received anything.
im going to be a senior, but i would expect mine to come quick as im very close to columbia if they sent it already it shouldve gotten to me in a day

still no one out there who has a yes or a friend that got an acceptance letter? we know of many rejection letters but no one has come forward to say they got in! it sure wasnt that way last year.
maybe they should have done emails instead of snail mail

@pokemonwhite: I totally agree with you. All of us have an individual login and so it would be so easy to just send a message and then follow it up with the actual letter. Even my school doesn’t mail report cards anymore.

Very true, I mean we already have accounts set up… plus they have all our emails to send a quick yes or no

any1 know how important the challenge math and science sections are for acceptance?
i think i did very well on challenge math but pretty bad on the science

^the entrance exam is the single most important factor in your admissions decision.

@cortana:
i know the entrance exam is the most important factor but im asking if any one section on the exam is more important

If only the entrance exam counted then it doesn’t explain these statistics:
On the letter it says that out of 2000 applicants, 400 were chosen to the program.

Then it has some stats comparing this years’ applicants to a national sample of college freshmen who took the same test.

 • 9th graders did 62% better than college freshmen
 • 10th graders did 74% better
 • 11th graders did 81% better
 • Students who won admission did 98% better

they must consider other factors as well.

Each of the sections are equally important

ah ok thanks silveraurora
well see what happens hopefully today

No problem ^^
I read through this entire thread before I took the test
Really hope the letter comes soon! I’m so nervous that I can’t even concentrate on anything else right now.

just checked the mail, mail came but still nothing from the shp
i live in manhattan btw

just came back from the mailbox & no letter.
i will repeat what i said yesterday IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN CONFIRM THEY WERE ACCEPTED OR HAVE A FRIEND WHO WAS?

Nothing… well if its not here tomorrow we’re told to call…

Sent from my Transformer using CC

Nothing today…

oh my god..
What is the matter with Columbia!!!

How are they possibly going to deal with 1500 people calling them saying, “Where are my results!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!”

You my young friend are going to bother the heck out of your professors when you do get to college.

Leave it alone, it will come. I thought I definitely did not get into Cornell, because I had heard someone else got an acceptance letter, but five days later I was proven wrong.

Harassing them can only hurt your chances. Relax, take a nap, go for a bike ride, and don’t worry about it.

My friend who lives right by me got a rejection and we’re both rising sophomores. Hopefully the acceptances are sent later but I’m not expecting anything cuz I choked on the challenge math.

Where do you live?
