[Visiting Student Program | Columbia Undergraduate Admissions](Visiting Students | Columbia Undergraduate Admissions)

except from the campus housing opportunities, could somebody tell me where the difference between the 2 instituions are ?

which institution would you chose ?

thank you!

Well… Columbia College is the undergraduate, Ivy League unit that – along with the graduate schools – is the source of Columbia University’s prestige. Whether or not you take seriously college rankings, it is ranked number four in USNWR’s list of national universities, just behind Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. As the undergraduate college, its student population is roughly 18-22 years old. Highly selective, it accepted less than 7%of the 34,000 students who applied this year for admission in fall 2013.

The Columbia School of Continuing Education is an open-enrollment adjunt to Columbia University. Its principal constituents are adults of various ages and attainments looking to supplement their educations, and does not serve an 18-22 year old, undergraduate degree-seeking population.

What you should choose should probably depend upon your age and current college enrollment status.

But really, this information is available online. You yourself posted a link in your above query which seemed to provide a great deal of useful information. I am sure the Extension School has a similarly helpful website.
