Columbia vs Cornell

Hey, I’m thinking about engineering major, but I am interested in other areas like economics. What are the pros and cons of each?

Thanks

If you are the total science type, go with Cornell. If you prefer to have more liberal arts in the mix, go with Columbia. Of course, there are other factors, location, financial, atmosphere, the core, clubs etc that might influence you. I chose Columbia over Cornell (premed bio), but I am very interested in the core and humanities. There is no definite choice here.

Don’t quote me on this, but I think Cornell has a better engineering program.

I know we (erm, Columbia) have Stiglitz in our econ department (teaching undergrad, no less!) – I’d venture to guess that our economics program (specifically international finance) is stronger.
