Columbia vs Wharton

Simply based on prestige and name recognition, which one is better? Please try to be as objective as possible.

Wharton. 10char

If you desire an education go to Columbia. If technical training is what you want go to Wharton. It is like comparing apples and oranges.

To those who value an education, Columbia will be more prestigious; to those who value trade schools, there is none better than Wharton.

Ditto HockeyKid.

Agreed with HockeyKid.

Also, it depends on what you want to study. Obviously if you want to major in History, you wouldn’t go to Wharton. If you want Business though, Wharton is the easy choice.

Columbia is very strong in History, Political Science, the Classics, etc.

Wharton offers the option for one to obtain a second major from the College of Arts & Sciences (UPenn).

For what it’s worth, I don’t think rankings are a good way to measure a university’s (or that of a department within said university) quality. Penn’s humanities/social science departments are probably more than just fine. Why discus such triviality?

Who are you to say that X is better than Y for D? If you’re an academic or student (or know such people) working in D and one who has experience with both X and Y, then I’d say you’re in a good position to comment.

I had to make that decision myself. I chose CC because of the overall balanced education with the Core curriculum.
