I really really need and want to take this course, but i got waitlisted as number 7…
the limit is 17, enrolled 14, waitlists 7, avail seats 3
what are my chances of getting in?

You realize this is not an R&C or entry level writing course? it won’t satisfy those requirements. I ask because you mentioned that you really needed the course, wondered why.

i don’t need to fulfill those requirements… i just suck at public speaking and i want to improve on it, and seems like the professors are all top rated at ratemyprofessors.com
if the chances are low, it seems wise to get rid of it quickly and go for a different course while i have the chance… so do ya think i’ll get in?
do a lot of people drop this class?

You could try an extracurricular activity to improve your public speaking. I am on the Cal Mock Trial team and we have received extraordinary training. I would be shocked if the class taught 1/10 of what I have learned. Mock Trial is highly competitive, so it might not be a good place to start, but there are organizations like Model UN which could give you public speaking training. Also there are the Berkeley Toastmasters, an organization dedicated to improving public speaking.
