.com vs .org mistake - a big deal?

Hi everyone,

On my activities list for an app I correctly listed a website with which I am involved as .org. However, in a supplement about my activities I mistakenly listed it as .com multiple times. How would this be received by college admissions? Would they even look up the website once they get to the essay, or would they just look it up when they look at my activities list? Should I be concerned about this? I can’t believe I made this stupid mistake.

The org versus com designation gets your email on the correct trail. Incorrect designation is returned to the sender or a differentiated email results. Send a correction.

Sorry, I was unclear. It’s not my email that I messed up, it’s the address for a website with which I am involved.

If the .com addresses redirects to the .org, you’re ok, if the .com goes to an inappropriate site, you may want to contact them. Otherwise I’d let it go, adcoms don’t usually have time to look up urls and they feel it’s unfair to other applicants who don’t have urls.

Great, thank you!
