does Chicago email you the decision in conjunction with a letter? Is there some sort of PIN number and login? If so, does the letter come much later than the email/login? And does the decision usually come around mid-December? Thanks for any insights

can’t remember exactly what day my letter/e-mail came. they did arrive the same day, but i got the letter earlier (around 4:00) and the e-mail later (around 8:00).

Last year decisions were emailed, as well as sent out as letters, and I think that some people got the letter first, some got the email first (like me) and I’m sure that some probably got them on the same day. You will get both within a few days of each other. I think decisions came out between the 15th and 18th of December last year( the email was on the 18th I think, and I think the letters went out earlier thant that on the 15th).

Oh my goodness I am SOOOOO nervous.

Know why? On December 15th, the Chicago Blackhawks (hockey) play the Buffalo Sabres for the first time this season. They have a guy from around here, Patrick Kane. And my dad and I have THIRD ROW seats to this game.
Ironic, eh?

Haha, I hope you still root for the Sabres!

(Fellow Buffaloinian speaking)

Sure hope things work out for you…my D would love to have a fellow Sabres fan at the U of C. When she mentioned loving the Sabres at a party, someone asked if she fenced!

haha i’m originally from buffalo, too! sabres fan… and a fencer.

Yes. typing text to make 10 char

Whoa! I’m a fencer as well as as from Buffalo!

Crazy!

It’s amazing how many Buffalonians are on here!

If we all go to Chicago we should all start a Sabres Obsession Club lol and get NHL Center Ice to watch all the games.

Don’t worry-I know where my allegience lies.

Even though I love Chicago, I was definately a little nervous that everyone would be watching foreign films (which are great) and no one would like hockey. This is a good sign!

Though I am disheartened by their shutout in Montreal last night (watched every single game this season so far). Just got to keep cheering!

P.S. Along with the usual discussion in my Why Chicago? essay, I also mentioned the presence of an NHL hockey team, and Patrick Kane.

P.S.S. I hate Ottawa so much I refused to even look at Emory University, even though it’s not the same ‘Emery’ lol.

Go Sabres!!! (long post)

Katia11,

My D comes by her Sabres obsession genetically! We’re from Westchester (outside NYC), but my whole family is from the Buffalo area. I attended the very first Sabres game ever, back in the day! Do you skate? She joined the women’s ice hockey club and is having the greatest time. She loves her teammates and they seem to have a lot of fun. Experience is great, but none is necessary!

Now let’s hope Ryan and the boys get their act together. It may only be November, but we wouldn’t want them to get too used to this losing thing! And by the way. Hawks tickets are REALLY cheap…she’s planning on going when the Sabres play the Hawks and accompanying her friend when they play the Stars.

Good luck with the admissions thing!!
