Comfortable Women's Clothing

I shop at JJill but have to really choose carefully. It is a very relaxed look, which works fine for some things but not others. I like to be comfortable, so my tendency is to choose clothes a little too big. I have to constantly remind myself that fitted is more flattering. Often at JJill, I go down a size.

I do get lots of compliments on my JJill pieces. Probably more so than any other store I frequent.

Relaxed doesn’t work on me so I don’t shop at J. Jill…and even some places I love are going so loosey-goosey now that I’m having a hard time finding clothes. If I were thinner, maybe but as my body loses ‘structure’ I look for it in my clothes. For an instance, these thin open cardigans with extra draping around the hips that everyone is showing – how the heck does that work on a curvaceous woman? Shows every ripple and then more emphasis on the hips? Yeah, right.

I have a lot of JJill things. For me, the trick to being comfy without looking sloppy is to wear something loose on the top or bottom, but not both. Big shirt with skinny jeans (how did we ever wear jeans without lycra?) or fitted tee with “flowing” skirt. My issue is finding pants that fit. I am small and the stores around me don’t carry my size, at least not in age appropriate styles. “Mail” ordering fitted pants is an exercise in frustration.
