Coming from a small private school

I’m pretty sure NYU is a possibility for me however I’m unsure how well I will adjust. I really like Amherst(1700 kids) however i really like NYU(20000+). I attend a very small private school in texas that has about 50 kids in 7th-12th grade.

Would NYU be too much of an adjustment?

Well, NYU’s campus is spread all through Greenwich Village. It doesn’t really have a designated campus. So you will be seeing all of the people in NYC when walking from class to class. But, don’t they have a relatively low student to faculty ratio? This is good news.

NYC has ten million residents, give or take. Could you live in the city and be happy there? If yes, then you should be fine at NYU.

Unless you’re looking to study something specific that only NYU offers or we are ranked incredibly well for, if you’ve gotten into Amherst you shouldn’t even be considering NYU. Turning down one of the best SLACs in the country for a school that will overcharge you doesn’t seem wise to me.
